Nowadays, a biometric system can be exposed to different types of attacks, threatening the identity of people in different industries: finance, retail, education, health, among others. ISO 30107-3 consists of a test that tries to break the security barrier of biometric technology through the most effective attacks.

Within the framework of the test, Secure Onboarding Process, VU's solution based on document reading and facial recognition for the identification of persons, was subjected to 360 attempted attacks presented by iBeta and the result was 0% successful attacks (Presentation Attack success rate: 0%). From this it can be concluded that the VU technology has been invulnerable to attacks in the process.

"Compliance with the iBeta standard on web, mobile and stand-alone platforms strengthens the identity authentication that is so important to our customers' business," said Sebastian Stranieri, CEO of VU, and a pioneer in the development of authentication security in Latin America. "With the level of attacks that organisations and governments are exposed to these days, meeting the highest security standards is not only important but a requirement to deliver meaningful experiences for customers and citizens," he added.

In the audit, it was proven that VU's technology is capable of detecting the false image of someone impersonating another person, whether it is a real or synthetic identity, and that the detection can be carried out entirely by an intelligent system, without requiring third party actions. iBeta also certifies that Secure Onboarding Process analyses both a single image, as well as multiple frames of a video and the visible background. Finally, the test demonstrates that the solution verifies the natural movement of a person's face and gestures, provided that the customer enables this option in the authentication process.
