As part of a new anniversary, the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology celebrated its 30th anniversary with its partners and friends, with Antel as Main Sponsor and the support of Dronfies Labs, T.Machine and Uber.

The Antel Arena was the chosen scenario, which received more than 100 guests, among which there were executives of the institution, as well as other referents of the IT industry, friendly institutions and different government authorities such as the Minister Guillermo Moncecchi. Also present were the pre-candidate Carolina Cosse from Frente Amplio and the pre-candidate Carlos Iafigliola from Partido Nacional.

A cast of actors impersonating prominent computer figures such as Ada Lovelace -first programmer-, Grace Hopper -inventor of COBOL, Bill Gates -founder of Microsoft, Jean Bartik -programmer of the ENIAC-, Alan Turing -father of computing- and Steve Jobs -founder of Apple- surprised the guests by interacting with them and taking pictures.

Later in the evening, an audiovisual presentation was presented that covered the main milestones of the IT industry over the last 30 years. The president of Cuti, Leonardo Loureiro, was in charge of welcoming the attendees and thanking them for their work and commitment to promote this industry.

The musical group La Ventolera, composed of trombones, trumpets, tuba, saxophones and drums, enlivened the meeting with their repertoire of candombe fusion with winds, being the preamble to the candle lighting that closed the celebration.

It was a moment of encounter to celebrate the evolution of the IT sector and particularly of the industry that is undoubtedly changing the world.
