In the framework of the ceremony for the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uruguay and China, in Beijing, Cosse said that integration in the information technology and communication sector 'is key' to deepen relations in the strategic partnership.
The hierarch said she was proud of the 30 businessmen who accompanied her to the Far East and exchanged ideas and opinions with their Chinese counterparts.
During her visit to China, the Secretary of State also stressed that Uruguay's technological development "positions the country as China's gateway to Latin America".
In this sense, he indicated that "the installation of fiber optics to connect homes to the Internet, the project of 12,000 kilometers of submarine cable with the United States and Europe, the Data Center, the software industry and the Ceibal Plan are technological features that make Uruguay an ideal country to be the technological port of entry of China to Latin America".
