As it is traditional, the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (Cuti) gathered its members to say goodbye to the year and distinguish the most outstanding companies and people within the industry, for their contributions to the development and growth of the sector.
Between music and themed food centres, more than 200 people gathered on Wednesday 13 December at the Club de los Industriales, where government authorities, authorities from different institutions, the media, members of the Board of Directors, members of the different Working Commissions and Chamber collaborators were present.
This opportunity was also the framework for the delivery of the fourth edition of the Cuti Awards, the awards of the Technology Industry of Uruguay. This year, Cuti awarded distinctions in the following four categories: "Most Innovative Company of the Year", "Startup of the Year", "Best Software Product or Service" and "Best Web & Mobile App".

On the other hand, Paganza was selected as the "Best Web & Mobile App", sharing the third place with Doctari and Loog Guitars. This application allows you to pay your bills from your mobile phone in an easy, convenient and secure way.
The composition of the shortlists was determined by a Nominating Committee, composed of ICT industry leaders and appointed by Cuti. The Chamber's members then voted for their favourites, taking into account the shortlisted candidates, and the winners emerged from this process.
In addition, special recognition was given to Arnaldo "Pipo" Castro, who has made an important contribution to the development of the ICT industry in Uruguay, from the management of his company, actively participating in the Chamber as a director and being one of the promoters of technical training in IT.
At the end of the awards ceremony, an emotional tribute was paid to Álvaro Lamé, where a video was shared, compiling memories and testimonies of friends and close people who highlighted his charisma, dedication and thanked him for his work, commitment and passion for the ICT industry.
