Google has designed for the first time a program aimed only at Latin startups, according to Madrid's El País. It is Latam Exchange, a program whose headquarters will be in the Campus of San Pablo (Brazil), so that technology startups with growth potential, accelerate its expansion in the style of Silicon Valley.

The selected startups will move to Google's new campus to have a personalized program with mentors from the industry. The firm has similar campuses in London, Tel Aviv, Seoul, Madrid and Warsaw.
Unlike the program being developed in San Francisco, which adds US$ 50 thousand of investment without taking part of the company, in this case no additional funding will be given.
André Barrence, director del Campus de San Pablo, explicó que uno de los grandes frenos de América Latina es la ausencia de un marco legal común: «Incluso con legislaciones diferentes, es posible identificar a los usuarios en países emergentes con características similares, por lo que estas empresas latinoamericanas pueden convertirse en empresas que resuelven no solo los problemas locales, sino los de toda la región».
Google seeks to accelerate different sectors that impact Latin America. For this first edition, the fusion between finance and technology was chosen.
El director del centro subrayó a El País de Madrid que se mantendrá la relación con las startups después de la incubación: «La idea es generar un intercambio importante entre las empresas del sector, para que se conozcan y ayuden. Y vamos a seguir el monitoreo de su situación tras el programa».
The selected fintechs will be announced in August and will spend a week at the San Pablo Campus in October.
