Digital profiles are nowadays a key piece in the transformation of any company. Organizations need specialists who know how to use technology and, above all, who know how to move a traditional business to a digital scenario.

Mastering this new environment is a plus for the employability of any professional. It is not just a matter of knowing how to manage social networks and handle a new computer program. Companies are looking for highly qualified profiles.

The current challenge for professionals is to know how to recycle themselves and thus be able to adapt to the changes that come with the implementation of new technologies.

Marketing

To be a specialist in the world of digital marketing is crucial to create campaigns in any medium and master the different phases of the project: from the development of the strategic plan to data analysis. In addition, according to the academic director of Inesdi (Spain), Ana Sánchez-Blanco, it is also necessary to manage SEO techniques -to optimize websites and their positioning-, and SEM -to increase web traffic-.

This area enjoys a very wide educational offer. For example, the Digital Marketing inbound marketing programs of Inesdi, the Master in digital marketing of ICEMD and the Master in marketing management, sales and digital strategy of IEBS stand out.

Content Management

Social media experts and content creators, along with marketing experts, are already a classic in the digitization of companies. To become a specialist in the management of new materials, you can take a master's degree in digital communication, social media and digital content management. From Inesdi, they also recommend training in new narrative formulas through programs such as Branded content and transmedia storytelling.

This area does not only concern communicators, but also affects a wide range of professions. For example, there are specific training courses for teachers such as the course Creation of digital content, mobile learning and gamification in the classroom, taught by UNIR. Engineers can also focus their careers in this field. In this sense, U-Tad offers the Degree in Engineering in Digital Content Development.

Design

The emergence of new devices has given rise to a myriad of occupations. One of the newest is that of the user experience designer, a profile that is currently in short supply and is increasingly sought after by companies. "The evolution of digital media has highlighted the central element of product design: the user," explains Clara Santaolaya, an educator and director of operations at EDIT in Spain. This school and the agency Redbility have launched the Master user experience & user inter-face design for digital media.

This is where the creation of digital content comes into play. José Antonio Rodríguez, director of the animation and visual design area at U-tad, speaks of a revolution in the animation industry: "We work for simulators, web formats and mobile apps. The contents are increasingly complex. Animators, audiovisual effects artists and character designers are in demand". He highlights the postgraduate course in Rigging and character FX as one of those that offers a more specialized training.

Data analysis

Big data is a sector on the rise and increasingly has more training plans. Most business schools and universities have created specific programs. Professionals can also use online courses, such as MOOCS, to get started in this field.

"Normally, the profiles in this sector can specialize in three aspects: the infrastructure in which the data is stored, the analytics of the information or in the visualization of these contents," explains Juan Corro, director of the engineering area of U-tad. These are transversal profiles that are in demand in a wide variety of industries, such as telecommunications, retail companies and financial institutions.

Ciberseguridad

Digitalization has brought threats and there is a need for professionals to protect companies from the new dangers.

Being an expert in the new digital strategies involves having a digital vision of business, mastering the latest marketing techniques, managing social networks, acting in new media and media, delve into digital law and, of course, be creative. These are some of the points that, according to Nacho de Pinedo, CEO of Isdi, should be taught to turn professionals into true experts in the new digital environment. Being a specialist in the digital transformation of companies has become one more occupation, a new responsibility that can give in any rank of the company.
