Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Japan. Several Uruguayan Information and Communication Technology (ICT) companies have set up their own offices there.

This sector is increasing its presence abroad year by year.

Today there are at least 20 companies that fall into the category of multinationals, with headquarters in Uruguay and subsidiaries in more than one foreign country. To this must be added exports to more than 30 destinations worth US$ 675 million.

How can we explain the growing presence of ICT sector companies abroad? How do Uruguayan companies establish themselves in other markets not only with products but also with a physical presence?
