FOCEM launched its new institutional Web and Intranet, developed by a Uruguayan company.

The Fund for the Structural Convergence of MERCOSUR (FOCEM) made a regional call for the design and development of its Web site and Intarnet. In our country the call was disseminated through Cuti and the Uruguayan company ÁreaW3 was selected to execute the project.

The entire system developed, from the operating system of the Web server, through the different programming languages and frameworks to be used, is regulated by open source licenses.

For the development of the website (fontend) of FOCEM, we used HTML5/CSS3 responsive technology, based on HTML5 Bolierplate Frontend Template, which includes the latest versions of libraries such as: Twitter Bootstrap 3, jQuery, Normalize.css, Modernizr.

The system with which these HTML pages were rendered was developed with Symfony Framework, for PHP5 language. The database engine selected in this instance is Percona Server MySQL 5.6. The website is compatible with the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer version 8 or higher.

Aiming to optimize the usability of the site, it is responsive and multilingual and has been optimized for SEO in order to improve FOCEM's positioning on the Internet.
