From May 17 to 19, from 14:00 to 20:00 the fifth edition of Tecnológica will be held at LATU. Admission is free and free of charge, and all those interested in technology, with or without experience, are invited.
Tecnológica was born five years ago, as an initiative to create a different activity that invites to talk about technologies, to exchange about it and to generate feedback. Oriented to all ages, professions, students, free of charge, it offers options for everyone: from beginners to expert engineers and programmers.
In the large premises of the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU), Tecnológica offers a space for beginners, so that they can generate a first approach to technology and clear any doubts. Another sector will be aimed at a more expert public, for professionals from different areas of technology. In addition, there will be spaces for talks with speakers from different parts of the world, to talk about various topics related to the theme that brings them together.
In an interview with Empresas & Negocios, Enrique González, organizer of Tecnológica, stated that the main objectives of this fair are linked to technological communication: "To expand knowledge and generate networking, ideas".
In the history of Tecnológica, the public has been growing in number, edition after edition. Gonzalez said that, in general, those who have attended once are the first to register for the next edition.
For its 2017 edition, Tecnológica will incorporate many new features. First of all, there will be different options for each generation. New companies, new products and new ideas. It will seek to give place to the presentation of technology entrepreneurs, so that they can make known and disseminate their ideas. "We will have a speech area, so that new entrepreneurs can communicate publicly, in the middle of the fair, what is being created and that people can join," said Gonzalez.
At the same time, it has been a tradition, since the beginning of Tecnológica, to close the fair with the launch of a science fiction book. In this sense, the fifth edition of Tecnológica coincides with the presentation of the fifth edition of "Ruido Blanco". The aim of this initiative, according to González, is related to the intention of "generating something so that people linked to technology and who like to read feel identified".
This year, the Tecnológica team intends to "try to generate new expectations, new things, new contacts, so that people leave with the idea that at Tecnológica they found the contact they were looking for because they came up with something crazy and found an idea and someone to help them with that new idea," said González. In this line, he assured that there have been cases of Tecnológica participants who were able to get the job of their dreams thanks to their attendance to this fair.
A fair that breaks records
Another novelty of Tecnológica 2017 is that it aims to achieve a Guinness World Record. How? By creating the world's largest joystick. The idea is that this object resembles the first joystick in history and meets the requirements to beat the record in size and height.
