Cuti talked to Franco Serra, MUS Communication Assistant about this new app where you can find your favorite local artists and also access to an international catalog with the most recognized labels worldwide.
How did the app come about?
MUS arises as a response to the low representation of national music on global platforms. International streaming apps do not reflect the musical reality of Uruguay, given the logic in their navigation and the proposals they generally introduce. Local artists have a very low participation and this reality negatively affects the potential of diffusion that this kind of tools have. Streaming music consumption is undoubtedly the new and established modality of listening to music, and the rich Uruguayan culture should also be favored.
Where to download MUS?
MUS is available for Android and iOS devices, and also has a webapp version(escuchar.mus.uy). To register, the person must enter escuchar.mus.uy, and create a user, either using Facebook, Twitter or Google+, or through an email. From there on, you must choose a payment method, and once this step is completed, you will be able to listen to all your favorite music in the webapp version or by downloading it from the digital stores of your mobile phone.
CUTI PROMO
As for payment methods, there are several promotions for users to get to know the app without paying for a certain period of time. For example, Antel customers can access a free month of national and international music, and those who pay with card, the same.
In addition to these there are several other promotions, such as the one we propose in this case for all CUTI members, with a free month. The process is very simple: through the web empresas.mus.uy/cuti the person requests a registration code, and then executes the process explained through escuchar.mus.uy, entering the code in the section of Abitab Prepaid Plans.
Musical variety
"MUS has a music catalog that exceeds 14 million songs. Within that number are all the musical genres of the world, from the most popular globally, such as reggaeton, pop, rock and cumbia pop, to other genres more rooted in our culture, such as murga, candombe, tropical, national rock and folklore," says Serra.
MUS has exclusive materials of the 2017 carnival, for example the album of Don Timoteo, the winning murga of the last edition. In addition, the latest from Cayó la Cabra, Edú "Pitufo" Lombardo, Pablo "Pinocho" Routin, Emiliano y El Zurdo, Alejandro Balbis, among many other premieres. Regarding the summer hits, all these contents are also part of the MUS catalogue. Whether it is the hits of popular international artists, or the greatest hits of the most popular Uruguayan bands.
From Uruguay to the rest of Latin America
"The problem that local artists have is the same for the rest of the artists in the region," says Serra. This is why MUS will seek to start operations in Latin American countries.
