Mentor Scouting

8/04/16

Make a difference in the lives of technology entrepreneurs. Join us as a mentor for the fifth edition of RunIT.
Reading time: 2 minutes

Use your knowledge, skills and experience to assist in the acceleration of early-stage technology-based projects. More than a dozen projects signed up to participate in the 2016 edition of the RunIT programme, organised by Cuti.

"RunIT is an enriching experience for the entire technological ecosystem in Uruguay. Not only do the entrepreneurs benefit, but we entrepreneurs gain new insights and have the opportunity to learn alongside them, absorbing knowledge from their successes or mistakes, and challenging our own paradigms," said Daniel Goldman, CEO of InnMentor and RunIT mentor from past editions.

After a presentation of the ventures, entrepreneur-mentor(s) work teams will be formed, which will meet monthly for a period of 6 to 8 months, together with a member of Cuti's staff.

Bruno Nocella, from the company GoDoWorks, who took part in a RunIT experience, says that there is "a before and an after. The RunIT allowed us to establish ourselves as a software company with a single flagship product and to make the qualitative leap we needed, based on extremely rich and well-founded advice. Immediately afterwards, we went abroad and were lucky enough to open offices in Bogotá (Colombia) and Santa Cruz (Bolivia). It helped us to organise, focus and multiply, as well as to feel supported and part of the industry.

The director of the company Aliado, Alejandro Martínez, has a similar opinion about the initiative. He pointed out that his time at RunIT was a trigger that opened doors for the future, building an "enriching process" in which the mentors provided him with the necessary tools to develop his project, which was lacking in the commercial side and in the business plan.

As in the previous cases, Matías Viera, co-founder of Programa Uruguay, said that his company "had been diversifying too much", was in a moment of uncertainty about the way forward and the support of people with experience in the industry, who understood his problems and gave him advice, was fundamental. "They made us see the strengths of the business, how to increase profitability, which allowed us to open our offices to the public. They also taught us to be alert and not to make the same mistakes that others have made in the past," he said.

If you want to be part of the growth of others, inspire new generations and hone your leadership skills, don't miss this opportunity.
