During this mission, they learned about the policies implemented by the leading country in technological innovation, entrepreneurship and investment capital.
The activity was organised by the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technologies (Cuti) and the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Energy (MIEM), with the support of Uruguay XXI. The delegation was led by Minister Carolina Cosse.
The 60 members of the delegation toured leading companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook, Cisco, Deloitte, and prestigious universities such as Stanford and Berkeley, and made contact with 500 startups in Silicon Valley, with the aim of establishing relationships and agreements.
They came with a desire to learn, with ideas and projects to disseminate. And as a gift to their hosts, they brought light blue Luis Suárez T-shirts and amethyst stones.
What was the experience like, what was new and why are these visits important? We talked to Leonardo Loureiro, president of Cuti.
